Our kids did well. We took 1st and 3rd (grant and will repectively). We had a good turn out and everyone enjoyed it. SPecial thanks to the fella that bought all the fundraiser sunglasses and then gave them to our kids. That was cool. Thanks to all of those guys that showed up and fished the tournament. Thank you to Chance Nelson for taking one of our kids out. He learned alot from you.

Next water venture is Lake Nottely on May 2. See you all there! Pics from Blue Ridge coming soon!

Spring Break Fishing

Posted by rusty.logan on April 13, 2015 at 9:35 AM Comments comments (0)

I was able to fish a few days over spring break. I found fish scattered from secondary points all the way up into the back of pockets. I hooked decent fish on Fluke Jr, pumpkin crawfish jig, and the white spinner. I unsuccessfully threw Rat-L- Traps, Smithwick Jerk stix, texas rigged roboworms, wacky worm rigged pumpkin pearl, black and blue jigs, variuos forms of weighted and weightless lizards, some top water, and sqaure billed cranks.

The fish that were caught hit aggressively. On sunny days several would follow our baits to the boat's edge and swim off without hitting. Scenting the baits did not change their behavior. Widblown points and windblown pockets were the most productive.

Good luck this Saturday. I hope to see you all at the Lake Blue Ridge Marina.

Tournament Schedule

Posted by rusty.logan on December 17, 2014 at 2:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Our tournament schedule is fast an furious. March is particulalry busy. Please understand that most of this is out of my control. Major events are dictated to me. Then, it is my job to fill in the other weekends with events that will help prepare us to win the major events. The state finals were moved from May 2-3 backwards to March 21-22. This has cramped our time frame for preparation. To be successful we need kids on the water working together.

Please help me make this happen for our kids! Thank you som much for your support. None of this happens without your hard work. Thanks for buying glasses and t-shirts and the stickers that are coming out soon.

Please give me a call if you have any questions.

CLUB MEETING- special guest David Bryan

Dave's Lures owner David Bryan stopped in Friday to give us a 30 minute lesson on assembling jigs, spinners, and designing them for specific purposes. He did a great job and even assisted each person present in making a custom jig. Thanks for your time, effort and gifts to us. He sells his lures directly to fisherman at tournaments. If you are fortunate enough to be able to find him at a tournament venue I might suggest filling your box with his products. They are very well made!

Just a short update on our progress. The Jersey logo sales are almost complete. We will be ordering those shortly. Our SAF registration is in and being processed. The national director (Mark Gintert) told me that the 2014-2015 tournament schedule will be available in about 1 week. So, if you have a boat, you should be visiting local lakes (Lanier for sure) and marking fishing holes on your GPS. This is the time to perpare for what is coming. Remember that the club ELT will be starting again on October 16th. That means next near October 6th we should be signing up for the new round of clubs. GET YOUR GRADES UP AND KEEP YOUR NOSE CLEAN!!! If you haven't stopped by my room lately, come see me. I have a flyer for you.
